The purpose is to enrich their cultural capital and broaden their horizons whilst expanding their vocabulary to enable students to confidently and eloquently express their ideas, thoughts and feelings.

D Our school values of respect, honesty, endeavour, community and creativity underpin our school culture. These values help to shape our students so that they are able to make positive contributions to both our school family and society.

E Our extra and super curricular opportunities extend students’ learning beyond the classroom and in to competitive sports, creative and performing arts and subject based enrichments.

F Our blend of both foundation and hinterland knowledge ensure that learning is deep and meaningful and students are able to make links, find connections and form strong learning schema.

Our School Mission at Ridgeway is to ensure that our students, colleagues and families will be part of a FAIR community. We will support our school Family to Achieve their potential, and Inspire students to Reach the very best destinations.

At Ridgeway School and Sixth Form, the education we provide is guided by the values of respect, honesty, endeavour, creativity and community.

Our aim is to provide children with the best possible academic education within the securest of environments. Our teaching and curriculum focus on providing all students with a solid academic foundation that ensures every child reaches their full potential, within our balanced curriculum.

We also aim to help children develop holistically, secure in knowing who they are and what they want from life. Our values will be specifically developed on a half termly basis through assemblies, rewards and RSE. Above all, as a community we will act out these values day to day. Our guided reading will challenge perceptions and expose students to life beyond the classroom. Our teaching philosophy is simple: our lessons will be inspirational and engaging supported by a consistent pedagogy of research proven techniques.
