R6 ASPIRE

All students at R6 will receive one to one personal and academic mentoring and support with their next steps, whether that is university, an apprenticeship or employment. All students receive personalised support with applications, references and assessment or interview preparation.

R6 Aspire is our programme of events, visits, guidance, advice and interaction with alumni and experts that supports students who are seeking a place at university to study Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Sciences or those seeking to study at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. This is a programme that starts in the first term of Year 12 and supports students through to applications in term 1 of Year 13 and on through the assessment and interview process.

In R6 Aspire during Year 12 we also hold guidance session for students seeking to go on to higher education courses that may require further assessment, rehearsals or portfolios in order to give students time to ensure their application is as strong and as well considered as possible. This includes students interested in performance subjects, art and design and architecture.

We also hold specific R6 Aspire sessions aimed at students who may be the first in their immediate family to apply to university and may need support, encouragement and specific guidance to enable successful university applications.
