DUKE OF EDINBURGH…
Seventeen Year 12s went on their mountain training day over the weekend in preparation for their Gold DofE Award. We went up Fan Fawr opposite Pen-Y-Fan. What was anticipated to be a wet, cold, miserable day turned out to be lovely and dry. All participants pushed themselves around tough terrain climbing over 300m and walking for over six hours. Spirits were high once we made it to camp and tents were quickly up and dinner scoffed down before a rainy night. We broke camp early on Sunday and were debriefed on the fantastic effort that was made by all with only minor tweaks needed so that we’re ready for our practice expedition in April. - Mr J Adair
