TERM 5 IN THE LRC
Artificial Intelligence (AI) – love it or hate it, it’s part of our lives and this term year 9 have been focusing on how this fits in with academic integrity and plagiarism avoidance. The students proved themselves amazing AI detectives, examining text, paintings and photos to determine whether they were the real deal or AI generated. The academic integrity theme continued with year 12 students who were updated on the guidelines issued by the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) relating to AI Tool (ChatGPT, Snapchat My AI etc.) use in assessments/exams.
In year 7 & 8 library lessons we had a big push on completing reading booklets with students aspiring to reach the thresholds to attend the LRC Breakfast and Ice Cream Sundae Party in term 6.
We have to say a massive THANK YOU to FORCE who every year very generously donate £500 to the LRC which allows us to feed our students imagination with the most popular book collections. This year we bought over 80 books in the ULTIMATE FOOTBALL HEROES telling the stories of football superstars both past and present, from the playground to the pitch. As a bonus we were also able to buy seven BIG IDEAS books –big books to feed big dreams and big aspirations. Think BIG!
